Chapter 11 World Purpose And life purpose (the destiny of man)
The concept of purpose applied to the world of nature would render dubious the concept of inner freedom. On the other hand, the concept of motive, as determining human volition, carries with it the concept of purpose --a goal to be achieved by the action willed. Correct thinking leads to the conclusion that purpose exists only in the human mind. In nature there exists only cause and effect. The concept of purpose is rejected even for the spiritual world.
