On the RSF Social Finance website: I've heard that Rudolf Steiner made racist comments. Is this true? "Yes. We find Rudolf Steiner’s comments about and characterizations of race wrong, offensive, and indefensible. Our staff and board reject any and all racism. We have engaged in an honest examination to acknowledge and confront Steiner’s statements on race, as well as racism in our time. We are committed to ongoing learning and positive action to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, both at RSF and in the world." |

This sounds good! DIVERSITY STATEMENT We welcome students, parents, faculty, and staff of all races and sexual orientations, and of all faiths and creeds. We respect and support each individual’s spiritual beliefs and practices.
It is a fundamental goal of our education to bring students to an understanding and experience of the common humanity of all of the world’s people, transcending the stereotypes, prejudices, and divisive barriers of classification by sex, race, religion, nationality, and ability.
This is accomplished through our carefully crafted curriculum, which gives students a deep and rich experience of selected religious traditions and cultural/historical milieus and by school-wide and individual grade celebrations of seasonal festivals.
We reject racism in all its forms, and embrace the principles of common humanity expressed by the founder of Waldorf Education:
“We must cast aside the division into races. We must seek to unite people of all races and nations, and to bridge the divisions and differences between various groups of people.”
—Rudolf Steiner, The Universal Human, Lecture 1 |
When we are forced to act in a politically correct way we are not free and we are not moral. This video shows how the teachings of Jordan Peterson are very similar to Rudolf Steiner's teachings in The Philosophy Of Freedom.
The motto of Rudolf Steiner's Philosophy Of Freedom is that truth empowers creative activity. Video text is from The Philosophy Of Freedom By Rudolf Steiner 1894 Preface (original chapter 1): "The Goal Of Knowledge"
Jordan Peterson and Rudolf Steiner agree that the path forward that will do the most good and protect the world from tyrannical collectivism is to strengthen the sovereignty of the individual. This is the fundamental difference between social justice ideology and freedom philosophy. Social justice ideology favors group identity and collectivism over valuing and respecting the sovereignty of the individual.
The text for the video is the first paragraph of the original 1894 unedited Philosophy Of Freedom by Rudolf Steiner. The Philosophy Of Freedom begins by describing its fundamental principle, the sovereignty of the individual. Individual sovereignty is the basis for freedom, human dignity and personal responsibility.

If you are a student, parent or educator concerned about the take over of Rudolf Steiner's Waldorf Education by Social Justice activists contact Tom. I am looking for comments, stories and concerns about what is happening to Waldorf Education. You may remain anonymous but your stories must be told. The Marist political ideology of the social justice movement has no place in Waldorf education as it stands in direct opposition to Rudolf Steiner's principles of freedom.
WALDORF INSIDER REPORTS: "Hey heads up- Waldorf schools are being completely taken over by the Leftist Cult Religion of Woke. Take it from an insider. Waldorf Education has now completely abandoned the teachings & principles of Steiner, or has twisted them to fit the contemporary identity politics woke agenda. Waldorf Education is now a factory of Leftist Cult Indoctrination."

Is this image of a white child wearing a gold crown evidence of systemic racism in Waldorf Education? Should this little girl be confronted with her white privilege? It will happen in the New social justice Waldorf Schools in one way or another. It is so obvious to everyone else that social justice ideology is a joke that has no credibility outside the bubble of the Woke.
We, the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America, recognize the historic and ongoing impact of racism on our continent and the injustice and discrimination faced by black, brown and minority communities. We understand that inclusivity and equity is a journey of both moral and educational imperative. As such, we take seriously our responsibility to bear witness to what is happening in the world, to elevate the voices of marginalized people, to change the course of inequities, and to break down structural racism in all forms where it exists, particularly in Waldorf education.
Waldorf education espouses principles of respect for human dignity. Any narratives or indications made by Rudolf Steiner that are in contradiction to this principle are not the basis for Waldorf education and we unequivocally denounce such statements.
We know that we have far to go as an association and as individuals in our understanding of oppression and social justice. Advancing DEI is one of the compelling forces behind AWSNA’s strategic priorities. These priorities make equity and inclusion central to our work and aim to bring us closer to the world that we want for our youth.
