Steiners of modern times

Submitted by lonblu on Wed, 09/16/2009 - 9:43am.

Hello there!!

Being Steiner dead  in the 1925 I am wandering who are the contemporary Steiner successors and if they have produced some written book or website, expecially with reference to the philosophy of Freedom.

This is not to say that Steiner is outdated, if fact I have noticed that many contemporary authors still upheld philosophies older than Steiner, like those from Kant, Shopenauer...etc.

Thanks in advance

Andrea

Anthroposophy went in the direction of Steiner's other books and lectures that were the result of his clarvoyant readings of the spiritual world, for the most part ignoring Steiner's Philosophy of Freedom. This website is trying to bring attention to The Philosophy of Freedom because it is his science based book written for our age, while interest in Theosophy has wained. I'm not aware of other people seriously working with this book but I expect that to change.

There are two books which

There are two books which can be seen as modern alternatives to A Philosophy of Freedom, Herbert Witzenmann's Struktuurphenomelogie (only in German) and A treatise on living thought by Massimo Scaligero.

not sure the term "alternatives" is accurate

Don't know Witzenmann's book, but do know Scaligero's.  To be "alternatives" they would have to be "independent of", and not "inspired by".   I'm sure Steiner expected (see the 12th Lecture of the Gospel of John) individuals to strive to  "play his music", but its still his music.

Too bad, I have started to

Too bad,

I have started to challenge an author of spiritual science, and the philosophy of freedom don't miss a hit...Everything in this book is thought in order to warn us from inconsistent philosophies, and today, after 100 years these incorrect philosophies are still very alive, commercially at least!!

Kind Regards

If you are a native of Belgium, in which language do you read Steiner's book?

Do you study philosophy in Louvain?
